Kitaria Fables is an action RPG

**that blends elements of combat, exploration, farming, and crafting in a fantasy world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. Developed by Twin Hearts and published by PQube, this game aims to deliver a mix of action and laid-back gameplay reminiscent of **Harvest Moon** all in one package.

### Gameplay

**Combat & Exploration**

The combat system in **Kitaria Fables** employs a hack-and-slash mechanism without a character class system. Players can wield various weapons, such as swords and bows, and utilize magic to defend against enemy attacks. While the controls feel responsive enough, the combat system lacks depth due to the absence of traditional level-up mechanics. Character progression relies entirely on the weapons, armor, and skills obtained through crafting and exploration.

Exploring the game introduces diverse areas, including forests, caves, and mountains, providing a variety of environments to engage with. However, the enemy attack patterns tend to be repetitive, making combat feel monotonous over time. Additionally, there aren't many activities to partake in beyond combat and resource gathering, which can make exploration feel less dynamic.

**Farming & Crafting**

The farming feature in **Kitaria Fables** is similar to games like **Rune Factory**, but with more limited depth. Farming primarily serves as a means to gather resources rather than being a core gameplay element. The crafting and resource collection systems are quite standard and can be time-consuming. Unfortunately, the lack of social elements or relationships with NPCs makes the world feel less lively compared to similar games.

### Story

The story of **Kitaria Fables** is set in Paw Village, where we play as a cat warrior sent to investigate a mysterious threat disturbing the peace of the village. While the premise is intriguing, the story itself feels light and lacks depth or surprising plot twists. The characters feature interesting designs and charming dialogue, but interactions with them feel limited due to the absence of a friendship or relationship system.

### Graphics & Level Design

Visually, **Kitaria Fables** showcases a colorful chibi art style with vibrant and detailed environments. The characters look adorable, with relatively smooth animations, while the game world evokes a cozy and calming fantasy feel. The level design is somewhat linear, with areas clearly connected; however, exploration is restricted as some new places can only be accessed after reaching certain progress in the story.

### Difficulty & Challenges

The difficulty level in this game is fairly balanced, but it can feel repetitive due to the progression system relying more on grinding than leveling up. Without a traditional leveling system, players need to gather resources and upgrade their gear to face stronger enemies. Most foes can be easily defeated, but some bosses present more of a challenge with varied attack patterns. On the flip side, the farming and resource collection processes require considerable time, which can lead to a sense of repetition in gameplay.
