Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown takes a fresh approach with its Metroidvania New Mobile Android Game in 2025

Gameplay style, which means we’re diving into a vast, interconnected world packed with secrets and paths that can only be accessed after acquiring certain abilities.

We play as Sargon, an elite warrior from the group known as "The Immortals." Unlike previous entries in the series that were more linear, this time the gameplay focuses on exploring a 2D open world, challenging platforming, and a fast-paced, technical combat system. We can pull off various combos, parry enemy attacks with precise timing, and utilize special abilities related to time manipulation.

There’s also a character development system through a skill tree, allowing us to choose a playstyle that suits our preferences. One unique feature that’s super helpful for exploration is the "Memory Shard," which lets us take screenshots to mark specific locations—this is really handy in a game with complex navigation.

**Story**

The story centers around a rescue mission for Crown Prince Ghassan, who has been kidnapped and taken to a mysterious place called Mount Qaf—an area filled with time anomalies and mythological creatures.

While the plot isn’t exactly groundbreaking, there are some interesting surprises and mysteries scattered throughout, especially regarding the past and motivations of the main character, Sargon. The narrative is delivered through cutscenes and solid in-game dialogue, and the story feels fresh thanks to the touch of Persian mythology wrapped in a modern setting.

**Graphics and Presentation**

Visually, the game is strong with its 2.5D style and sharp, colorful animations. The character and environment designs are expressive and dynamic, creating a world that feels alive. The visual effects during battles are impressive, with smooth character movements and particle effects.

The background music blends Middle Eastern vibes with modern electronic elements, creating a unique and immersive atmosphere that fits perfectly with the theme of a world filled with magic and time distortion.

**Level Design**

The level design in **The Lost Crown** is complex and interconnected, encouraging us to explore every nook and cranny. Each area has a distinct visual identity, complete with environmental puzzles, hidden secrets, and enemies that fight in varied styles.

There are plenty of shortcuts, alternate paths, and essential items that can only be accessed after gaining new abilities, making backtracking an essential part of the progression. Boss fights are also well-designed and challenging, requiring strategy and sharp reflexes. However, platforming in some areas can feel quite tough and might get frustrating, although there's a certain satisfaction in overcoming those challenges.

**Difficulty**

In terms of difficulty, the game sits at a medium to high level, depending on how we want to tackle it. There are several difficulty options available, allowing players to adjust their experience as they see fit.
